Ronan Friel is a 19 year-old singer-songwriter from Donegal. From a very young age he was influenced by the music and arts that surrounded him at home and is constantly looking for new ways to express his love for them.
Ronan burst onto the music scene in 2014 at the age of 15 when he released his debut EP 'Heart of Stone' which led him to the finals of the Irish Youth Music Awards as well as playing at various festivals and venues around Donegal.
Since relocating to Dublin Ronan has taken steps towards forming a mature sound in his songs and remains diverse in genres and styles. His main influences range from folk legends like Bob Dylan and Tom Waits to the pop/rock sounds of Gavin James, Theo Katzman and The Coronas. Ronan draws from his musical experience and the sounds and emotions that surround him to craft a vast repertoire of songs grounded in storytelling, meaning and feeling with catchy melodies that bring his art to life.
In recent months Ronan has been growing as a musician and making a stance in the Dublin music scene. His most recent achievements include winning the singer-songwriter competition held by DU Music and playing at the famous Ruby Sessions in Doyle's Bar.
Ronan is currently working towards recording an EP which will mark a new beginning in his musical career.
